Top 3 Reasons To Visit Chattanooga, Tennessee

Reasons To Visit Chattanooga and Couples Experience

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Chattanooga, Tennessee, isn’t necessarily on the list of top destinations. This article is not to have you add it to your top 10 list, but it is to have you consider it as a place to visit if you are close. If you need a quick getaway and a not-so-expensive flight in the U.S., try out Chattanooga, Tennessee.

This article will quickly give you the top 3 reasons why Chattanooga is a good place to visit. Let’s go!

1. The Hospitality

The charm the south is known for is still large and in charge in this area of Tennessee. Everyone is equipped with manners to greet and assist when needed and eager to help, and honestly, who doesn’t enjoy being well taken care of during a vacation. We stayed at the Westin Downtown. The hotel is about 20 mins away from the airport, nestled in a cool hip, and upcoming neighborhood with some favorable bars and restaurants. There aren’t many, but there are definitely enough to get through the weekend. Not to mention, the bar in the hotel is pretty cool too, and the lobby and patio area with fire pits is a comfortable spot to sip on your favorite cocktail and be social. Don’t forget the rooftop pool with cabanas and during the day access to food and drink! The front desk staff gets 5 stars from us, along with the bar staff and valet attendants. Although, a smaller town, Chattanooga provides you with the service you desire and deserve.**We were invited over to a mutual friend’s home too for lunch (jambalaya, veggies, and baked apples)  and the love in the food was matched by the love in the home and camaraderie felt. In the words of us – Love Makes The Experience.

2. Great Selection Of Food

The Chattanooga food selection will not have me hop on a plane to make multiple trips a year there, just yet, but I must say I was surprised with the cuisines available. We went to a fantastic Portuguese-inspired restaurant with the option to grill your own meat on a marble slab (so up my alley)! I was provided a very hot marble slab, butter, some sauces to add flavor, and some nice cuts of meat (YUM)! The service there was personalized with some conversation about the history of the restaurant, wine, and once again the proof – Love Makes The Experience.

3. Outdoor Activities

Maybe it’s from the Seattle life that I know or just my personality, but I certainly enjoy a good adventure, and nature is everything for me. Chattanooga has its own share of outdoor activities to relish in: hiking, parks, and my newfound favorite, horseback riding. Discovering a new love through experiences is what the ‘good life’ is all about, and well, having the chance to connect with someone from the Mustang Leadership Partners where the support of the Mustang breed of horses is a priority, not only was I able to learn a bit about horses but I was reminded of my love for these amazing animals.

Years ago, in a suburb of Chicago was the first time in my adult life that I climbed on a horse and rode through the pathways surrounded by enormous trees, then once again in Costa Rica, and this time in Chattanooga was my absolute favorite. I felt like I was in training to be an expert Equestrian – hah! Trained briefly by a skilled teacher, and a previous competitor as a Dressage rider (that ish is hard); I was ready to roll, more like ride, with my new #partnerinride. It was so much fun and surprisingly I wasn’t terribly sore the next day! 🙂 #skills

Chattanooga really was full of surprises. The weather was decent, although humid (not my favorite), but satisfactory nonetheless. For me, with more development, diversity, and more food options, this wonderful city may just become a place we would visit more often!
