Coloradans enjoy being outside as much as they enjoy eating and drinking, whether the weather is sunny, cloudy, or cool. But why choose favorites when you can do everything at once? There are even more patios to choose from since the pandemic too!  Many rooftops in Denver have bars and restaurants, and an expanded outdoor seating over the last two years thanks to programs offered by the City of Denver and several suburbs.

Rooftop bars and restaurants abound, but which is the best for a romantic night out? We compiled a list of 12 of the best rooftops in Denver so read on for your next date night adventure!

12 Best Romantic Bars and Rooftops In Denver

Denver is the ideal city for an outdoor drink or meal, with over 300 days of sunshine and a thriving food and beverage scene. With summer quickly approaching and temperatures rising, there’s only one thing you need: a killer patio—OK, and possibly an equally killer drink.

When you combine breathtaking views with the thriving craft brewery and distillery scenes, you’ll look for a great rooftop spot to sip a brew, glass of wine, or craft cocktail.

Patios are common at restaurants throughout Denver, but great rooftop bars are few and far between.

We’ve got 12 of our favorite romantic rooftop bars in Denver listed below:

Englewood Grow & Gather

Opening Hours:

8 am – 10 pm (Tue-Saturdays)

Closed (Sun-Mondays)

Englewood’s Grow & Gather already has a lot going on: the former automotive shop now houses a hydroponic farm, urban garden, market, greenhouse, and the Feeder restaurant. However, one of the best places to enjoy all that hyper-locally grown produce is on the rooftop, at a table nestled between the greenhouse and the grow bed retaining wall.

Looking for tips? For brunch, try an On the Fence kombucha or a Huckleberry Roasters cortado, or for happy hour, try one of the house cocktails made with Family Jones spirits. Then, enjoy the romance with your partner on this rooftop restaurant in Denver.

54thirty

Opening Hours:

4 pm – 11 pm (Mon-Wednesdays)

4 pm – 12 am (Thursdays)

1 pm – 12 am (Fridays & Saturdays )

54thirty, Denver’s highest open-air rooftop bar, is located on the 20th floor of the Le Meridien Hotel. The bar, named after its elevation of 5,430 feet, is popular—how could the city’s highest al fresco rooftop bar not be? So get there early or be prepared to wait. It provides plenty of sun during the day, fire pits on chilly nights, and Instagram cred at all times.

The Palisade Mule is a Colorado-inspired cocktail made with vodka, peach cordial, thyme, lime, and ginger beer. One of the best rooftop bars in Miami for a sun-kissed Instagram couple pic. Don’t you think?

The Chingones

Opening Hours:

3 pm – 10 pm (Tuesdays)

11 am – 10 pm (Wed, Thursday & Sundays)

11 am – 11 pm (Fri & Saturdays)

Los Chingones serves Mexican-inspired cuisine that, while not traditional, is delicious. Try the watermelon, jalapeno, and cilantro-tossed white fish ceviche or the Bad Ass Fundido. Believe it or not, the bartender is as inventive as the chef. The Panther Milk shot; we’ll leave it to you to figure out what’s in it.

Los Chingones also serves brunch, so sit on their sunny rooftop terrace with a bloody green mary and a chicken and waffle taco. Give us a reportif you had a great time at this Mexican rooftop restaurant in Denver. We will wait!

Corrida

Opening Hours:

3 pm – 9 pm (Wed-Saturdays)

There is no bad seat in the house at Boulder’s Corrida. The upscale Spanish restaurant is built inside the former Daily Camera building’s glassed-in fourth floor, and its views of the Flatirons are breathtaking. The mountains are right there, whether you’re toasting from the expansive patio or the elegant dining room, providing the perfect backdrop for selfies or staring, depending on how you roll.

If a gin-tonic cart comes to your table, don’t hesitate to try it. And get some for your date too. *winks*

The Woods

Opening Hours:

7 am – 10 pm (Sun-Thursdays)

7 am – 11 pm (Fri & Saturdays)

The Source Hotel’s eighth-floor rooftop bar and restaurant, the Woods, is one of our favorite places to take in the unrivaled combination of the city skyline and mountain views. The wraparound terrace is our favorite spot, but even indoor tables have views thanks to massive windowed garage doors. It’s even better when they’re flung open on nice days.

A rooftop restaurant in Denver with a view? Amazing drinks you can try while at it? A romantic spot for a night out? You’re very welcome!

The Golden Mill

Opening Hours:

11 am – 10 pm (Sun-Saturdays)

When the Golden Mill opened, it not only added more food options to the west side but also added a great rooftop to the Front Range’s already stellar lineup. The rooftop is the best seat in the house, or should we say on the house, with views of Table Mountain and the equally iconic Coors brewery.

Apart from the trendy food (hot chicken sandwiches! Birria gorditas! Poke! ), there’s a massive self-pour tap wall with 50 local craft beers.

You know you’ve got to try something from that tap wall – thank us now!

The Red Barber

4 pm – 10 pm (Wed & Thursdays)

4 pm – 12 am (Fridays), 2 pm – 12 am (Saturdays)

2 pm – 9 pm(Sundays)

This rooftop bar in Denver is nothing short of amazing. Yard games? Check. Incredible views from a rooftop? Definitely. Fire pits for cool summer nights? The Red Barber has three. Is frozen wine on the menu? Yep. This rooftop patio atop the Catbird Hotel exceeds even the highest patio standards, fulfilling all your al fresco drinking fantasies.

Some amazing cocktails include the super-refreshing Millennial Falcon, which contains cucumber mint vodka, strawberry syrup, watermelon seltzer, and lemon. Don’t be shy to try it all!

Avanti

Opening Hours:

11 am – 11 pm (Sun-Wednesdays)

11 am – 1 am (Thursday- Saturdays)

Seven restaurant concepts in one space! Avanti F&B is a “collective eatery” inspired by European markets and food truck roundups, with locations in LoHi (the Lower Highlands) and now Boulder, CO. That means you can eat at seven different restaurant concepts (which rotate every few months) under one modern roof.

An added benefit? The most successful Avanti concepts often expand out and get their separate locations, making the restaurant a great place to try brand new and up-and-coming Denver restaurants.

Head to the bar on either of the two floors for a cocktail, beer, or glass of wine. Then, head upstairs to one of the Mile High City’s favorite rooftop bars for stunning views of downtown Denver.

Avanti is always busy, so arrive early and expect a packed house and a good time.

Fire Terrace

6:30am – 2pm,3-9pm (Saturdays)

6:30am – 2pm,3-9pm (Sundays)

With a drink in hand, take in the views of Denver from Fire Terrace on the rooftop of the ART Hotel on Capitol Hill. You can eat and drink alfresco at this rooftop bar in Denver all year. Gather around the fire pit or relax in a more private setting with couches and umbrellas.

The menu includes inventive cocktails as well as seasonal bites from Colorado producers. The terrace is the best place to experience the cosmopolitan side of mountain life in a comfortable, upscale setting with stunning views of downtown Denver.

Not a fan of beer or whiskey? They also have a menu with nine signature cocktails. Bites from the kitchen include beef, pork, and chicken raised in Colorado.

Take note – Tap Fourteen does not accept reservations.

The West End Tavern

Opening Hours:

4 pm – 1 am (Wednesday & Thursdays)

4 pm – 2 am (Fridays), 12 pm – 2 am (Saturdays)

12 pm – 12 am (Sundays)

The West End Tavern is a must-visit rooftop bar in Denver for whiskey and beer enthusiasts. Some of Colorado’s best beers are on tap, but The West End also has a long list of ultra-rare beers that are difficult to find anywhere else. The Avery Black Eye, a rum barrel-aged stout with an 18.5 percent ABV, is for the brave. It’s about $20, but you won’t need more than one.

Briar Common Brewery + Restaurant

Opening Hours:

11 am – 10 pm (Mon-Thursdays)

11 am – 11 pm (Fri & Saturdays)

11 am – 9 pm (Sundays)

Briar Common Brewery + Eatery is one of the best places to visit in Denver if you like breweries. This Clay Street brewpub specializes in delicious craft beer and bistro-style dishes in a modern industrial setting. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring the city.

You and yours could have a double date and enjoy some of Briar’s best beers, including Das Bueno, Sour Seoul, Bee’s Knees, and Amnesia (which we love just for the name!). Must-order items on the all-day menu include steak + potatoes, green chili black bean burger, and a fried chicken sandwich. Briar also serves brunch on weekends!

There you have it. We hope this list of romantic rooftops makes it to your itinerary. There’s so much to explore for you and your date in the colorful city of Denver.

Denver is not only a bustling metropolis of businesses and universities, but it is also a major dining destination in the western United States. Denver has a lot of great restaurants, including places for a romantic night out. But where do the savviest, most astute diners go to eat?

We combed through data from thousands of restaurants to identify the top spots among the most knowledgeable, seasoned diners and best romantic restaurants in Denver. This piece covers some of the best date night restaurants in Denver for couples looking for a great night out on the town or for those planning a celebration with a loved one. Enjoy!

7 Best Romantic Date Night Restaurants In Denver

From intimate enclaves basking in the ambient glow of a fireplace to sensual cocktail bars and splurge-worthy dinner destinations, Denver has a date spot for every romantic situation. Here’s a Cupid-approved list of some of our favorite places to thrill you and yours.

El Five;

One of the striking features of one of the most romantic restaurants in the world is the spectacular views. Head to El Five, a restaurant high above the LoHi neighborhood at 2930 Umatilla, for an unforgettable view. Tapas-style Mediterranean cuisine is served at this restaurant. Choose a variety of dishes to share, then order wine to complement them. El Five is Linger’s sister restaurant, and both promise a romantic night out. Like the port, El Five is a melting pot of all the Mediterranean regions, creating dishes without a home country that taste like favorites from each one.

Jazz & Supper Club Nocturne;

Your date will be set to a smooth—or perhaps lively—jazz soundtrack at RiNo’s Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club. Make dinner and a show reservation at this restored, brick-walled warehouse, and you’ll enjoy a full live set alongside a three-course meal, with optional wine or cocktail pairings. The dishes are sumptuous without being too heavy. From cider-braised pork belly to sweet potato pilaf to goat cheesecake. And the performances, which feature Nocturne’s artists in residence, provide plenty to talk about, as well as an excuse to pause the conversation if necessary.

Retrograde;

Surprise your date by going to Retrograde. The futuristic cocktail lounge at Frozen Matter/Sweet Action ice cream parlor is hidden behind a freezer door. Neon lighting creates a mood in the small space, only available on a first-come, first-served basis. Not only will you appear well-informed, but you’ll also be enjoying some of the city’s most inventive cocktails; we recommend choosing your drink based on the name rather than the ingredients. Alternatively, tell the bartender what spirit you want and let them work their magic.

The Alamo Drafthouse Theatre;

Going to the movies is always a good idea for a date, but what about when it includes dinner and drinks? The Alamo Drafthouse in Sloan’s Lake (there’s also a location in Littleton) shows all of the new movies and hosts cool events like Macaulay Caulkin or Neil Patrick Harris stopping by to chat — or a Clueless screening/costume party. It has eight theaters, a bar, and an extensive food menu, and of course, they have your standard movie popcorn. Appetizers include a variety of wings, chips and queso, burrata bruschetta, and more. Salads, pizza, and brunch are available until 2 p.m. daily, along with hot dogs, sandwiches, and entrees such as fish and chips are also available.

Watching Bohemian Rhapsody while eating mac and cheese and drinking wine? That sounds like an out-of-the-house date affair that can’t possibly go wrong.

Jovanina’s Broken Italian;

The term “broken” refers to the owners, Jennifer and Jake Linzinmeir, who have a distinct take on Italian cuisine. The minds behind Jovanina’s are consistent in delivering extraordinary food and experience by combining traditional recipes with modern—and sometimes Western and Midwestern—twists.

For a truly unforgettable evening, reserve a table for two in the restaurant’s underground speakeasy dining area, which is part of a former Prohibition-era tunnel. Descending the candle-lit stairs at Jovanina’s Broken Italian feels like you’re on your way to a private dining experience. While you’re unlikely to dine alone, Sotto Voce, the downtown eatery’s Prohibition-style lounge has an intimate vibe, especially if you can snag a two-top in a restored nook of one of the space’s original tunnels.

The libations are served from a roving cart, and many of the dishes, including the oysters and pizzas, are kissed by the wood-fired oven upstairs. You also can’t go wrong with any of the handmade pasta. If you aren’t quite ready to call it a night, head over to the nearby Cruise Room or Cooper Lounge for a nightcap.

Elway’s Downtown;

Elway’s Steakhouses in Denver are well-known for being upscale destinations for upscale dining or special occasion meals. The Downtown location, within the Ritz Carlton, provides a particularly opulent atmosphere, as well as an unrivaled wine selection (thanks largely to sommelier Monica Dubar). Choose the sommelier’s flight and savor some of the most epic cuts of meat and perfectly seasoned steaks you’ve ever had.

Elway’s Downtown is the ideal location for any event. Celebrate a loved one’s birthday or anniversary, or meet for cocktails with friends. In a uniquely Colorado setting, you can always enjoy an outstanding meal served with genuine hospitality. Make sure to explore the lounge and outdoor patio.

Izakaya Den;

Calling all sushi fans!  One of the best sushi restaurants in town also has one of the coolest interiors and rooftop patios. Izakaya Den, located on the same block as Sushi Den, is a Japanese oasis surrounded by bamboo and modern light fixtures and décor. This is a good option if you want to impress someone or provide them with a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s the epitome of sleek and luxurious, and the sushi simply adds to the alluring experience. The selection of sashimi and rolls is extensive, including items you may have never tried before, such as truffle sashimi with kanpachi or uni sea urchin, among others.

If you and your companions aren’t fans of raw fish, other options include pan-fried dumplings, shrimp and lobster wontons, and more. So prepare yourself to sip some sake while gazing at the stars.

Wanting some additional explorative date night ideas in Denver, we have the goods for you!

Well…there you go! We hope this list of restaurants makes it on your itinerary. There’s so much to explore for you and yours in the euphoric city surrounded by mountainous views! We hope you do nothing more than have a splendid time, and as always, feel free to reference this list anytime.

Cheers!
